How to Help

Dog wearing cape jumping in the air

Did you ever dream of being a Superhero?  Yes?  Well – here’s your chance!  Become a superhero by volunteering your time, fostering a pet in need or making a donation to the Wake County Animal Center.  All of those actions go directly towards lifesaving programs to help pets in our care!  So … can I get you a cape?

Become a Pet Foster Parent!

The Wake County Animal Center Foster Program is a great way to help animals. If you become a Pet Foster Parent, you will help an animal get ready for adoption!  When you foster, you help two animals - the one you welcomed into your home and the one that now has a space at the Animal Center.  Will you help?  To learn more about the Foster Program, click here

Become a Volunteer!

At the Wake County Animal Center, our Volunteer Program is full with amazing people who help our animals by walking dogs, cuddling cat, taking pictures, writing bios and more. Do you want to get involved to provide fun and enrichment to the animals in our care?  To learn more about the Volunteer Program, click here.

Become a Transfer Partner

Transfer Partners are rescues that are both local, statewide and throughout the US.  Our Transfer Partners assist us with rehoming the many animals that come through our doors.
