Waste & Recycling

Wake County’s Solid Waste Management Division provides waste disposal and recycling services to residents and businesses in Wake County, as well as an array of award-winning outreach and education programs. Last year, the division landfilled 557,000 tons of garbage and collected 38,000 tons of materials for recycling at drop-off sites.

Service Update

Convenience Center 7 at 9024 Deponie Drive in Raleigh is unable to accept cardboard because of equipment failure. Customers may recycle cardboard at the adjacent North Wake Multi-Material Facility, located at 9029 Deponie Drive. The North Wake Multi-Material Recycling Facility is open Monday through Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm.

Facilities Hours of Operations

All facilities are closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve (at noon) and Christmas Day.
