
Wake County’s Solid Waste Management Division provides waste disposal and recycling services to residents and businesses in Wake County, as well as an array of award winning outreach and education programs. Last year, the division landfilled 530,000 tons of garbage and collected 38,000 tons of materials for recycling at drop-off sites.

All Wake County Solid Waste facilities are currently open and operating on regular schedules. Some material collection is limited. Any closures, changes to services and limitations will be posted here and on the County closings list.

All facilities are closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve (at noon) and Christmas Day.
