With winter weather predicted to impact our area, Wake County has proactively decided to close all county facilities on Friday, Jan. 21, to protect the health and safety of its employees and customers.
These facilities include:
- Wake County Parks, Recreation and Open Space;
- Wake County Public Libraries;
- Wake County Public Health Clinics;
- Wake County Waste and Recycling facilities; and
- Wake County Animal Center.
The East Wake Transfer Station and South Wake Landfill will stay open for an extra hour today to give residents and garbage trucks a chance to dispose of waste before the storm. The East Wake Transfer Station will close at 4 p.m., and the South Wake Landfill will close at 5 p.m.
Wake County Emergency Management staff will continue to monitor the forecast throughout the storm and determine if any additional schedule changes are needed.
Wake County residents who have non-emergency questions or issues can contact Wake County at 919-856-7044.
Members of the media who need to contact the Communications Office should call 919-857-WAKE or email email@example.com.
