Renovated Duraleigh Road Community Library to Reopen Monday

The Duraleigh Road Community Library, which has been closed to the public for renovations, will reopen on Monday, June 21.

The library now features new carpet, paint and shelving; an updated floor plan, service desk and furniture; and an upgraded children’s programming space.

“The Duraleigh Road Community Library has been nestled in the Duraleigh Corners shopping center for more than 30 years,” said Board of Commissioners Vice Chair Vickie Adamson. “Beloved by the community, this refurbishment breathes new life into a neighborhood institution that will appeal to a new generation of visitors.”

Some of the services offered at the library include:

  • Kids Book Bundles: Complete a short form and staff will prepare a surprise mix of 10 to 20 board, picture and/or beginning reader books for pickup.
  • K–5th Adventures on the Go: Kindergarten through fifth grade kids can read, create, discover and explore through hands-on activities. Materials and instructions provided. Check out three books to get your kit (while supplies last).
  • Summer @ the Library: Wake County Public Libraries is excited to announce its adventure-filled Summer @ the Library program kicked off on June 14. The theme is “Tails and Tales,” and it’s overflowing with opportunities for all ages to read great books, enjoy unique experiences and win prizes.
