2023 A Better Wake Town Halls: Dismantling Systemic Racism Together One Topic at a Time

Wake County, the Raleigh Chamber and the Triangle DEI Alliance are excited to take A Better Wake’s Blueprint to Dismantle Systemic Racism from planning to action with the involvement of the Wake County community.

They’re holding four town hall meetings where attendees can learn what is currently being done to address each of the four focus areas in Wake County and discover how to make a difference with the 40 goals and 150 near-term action items from the A Better Wake Blueprint to Dismantle Systemic Racism.

The community is invited to join in the mission focusing on economic mobility, criminal justice, educational equity, and health equity – beginning on April 11.

About the Blueprint to Dismantle Systemic Racism

To reimagine systems that create inequitable outcomes for Black and Brown residents, the Triangle DEI Alliance and its partners built on the longstanding work in the community to create a Blueprint to Dismantle Systemic Racism in Wake County. The Blueprint is a living document created by a group of more than 50 leaders from community-based organizations who met from June through November 2021. The work of this group is designed to evolve over time through an ongoing and collaborative process. Learn more at abetterwake.com/blueprint or by watching the video below.

About the Raleigh Chamber and Triangle DEI Alliance

The Raleigh Chamber is a nonprofit, membership-based business association serving the community in Raleigh and the surrounding region. As the Triangle’s largest business membership organization, with more than 2,200 member firms representing two-thirds of the private sector employment in Wake County, we support the interests of the local business community. The Triangle DEI Alliance, powered by the Raleigh Chamber, is leading the effort to make the Triangle region the most diverse, equitable, and inclusive business environment in the country.
