Poetry Writing 101

Poetry

About This Event

In this two-part poetry class, attendees will start small with a fun collaborative exercise and short form poems. In the second session, participants will learn how to find and create imagery that makes for powerful poetry. A series of concrete and accessible exercises enable them to gather material for a longer “serious” poem, and explore concepts like white space, where poets choose to omit some things to ensure the words on the page have greater impact. For aspiring and beginning poets, as well as those looking to get back into the swing of things. Ages 18 and up. Registration required.

This is the first of a two part series. Sign up to attend the second program in the series here
