The South Wake Landfill provides solid waste disposal for Wake County residents and businesses. This includes a long-term Interlocal Agreement (ILA) with municipalities and a Landfill Services contract with Waste Industries, Inc., for the construction and operation of the landfill. The South Wake Landfill Citizens Committee consists of members of the residential and business community in the vicinity of the South Wake Landfill, and is  sponsored by the Wake County Solid Waste Management Division.
