The Library Greeter is an energetic and customer-service-oriented person who helps create a welcoming atmosphere by greeting library patrons and helping them find their bearings as they enter the library.

Minimum age: 18 years old

Time commitment: Minimum of 2 hours per week

• Assist with basic directional information

• Basic troubleshooting for email, Microsoft and Google

The Chess Club Support Volunteer helps facilitate chess clubs and offers instructions and basic guidance to help community members learn or improve their chess playing skills.

• Teaching and demonstrating basic game rules and instructions

The English Conversation Group Volunteer helps to organize conversation groups for new learners of English interested in improving their fluency and confidence in speaking English and navigating everyday life. The volunteers will use questions and activities on practical topics connected to daily life to encourage conversation, practice pronunciation, learn new vocabulary and connect with others.

Time commitment: 4 hours minimum per month

Responsibilities may include:

• Plan and lead small group discussions and activities for adults learning English
• Use conversation starter sheets

The Knitting & Crocheting Club Support Volunteer helps to facilitate clubs that help community members learn or improve their needlework skills by offering basic instructions and guidance to participants.

Teen Leadership Corps (TLC) offers youth in Grades 6–10 the opportunity to cultivate leadership skills, explore and develop a variety of interests and talents, contribute to the local community, and get to know other teens with similar interests.

Age: 6th–10th graders

Time commitment: 1–2 hours a week

Responsibilities may include: 

• Assisting with program set-up and tear-down
• Craft prep
• Working with younger children during programs
• Working with other teens to plan library programs
