Future Northwestern Wake Station

Wake County Fire Services held a community meeting on Aug. 30 to discuss the potential construction of a new fire station to serve the northwestern portion of Wake County. The area is currently served by the Creedmoor Fire Department and Northern Wake Fire Department, but it is outside of any station's five-mile response boundaries. Building a new station would allow for quicker response times and lower insurance premiums for most residents. View the presentation from the meeting below.

Update

Wake County Fire Services held a community meeting on Aug. 30, 2022, to discuss the potential construction of a new fire station to serve the northwestern portion of Wake County. Your feedback and support of the project were invaluable!

Since that meeting, staff have searched for a suitable piece of land to construct a station that could serve all areas within a 5-mile rated insurance district. Staff have met with property owners at 10 locations, but to date, we have not been able to locate a site that satisfies all criteria to meet service needs and reduce insurance premiums.

The safety of our residents continues to be a top priority. We are also aware of the cost associated with not having a fire station within 5 miles of your home. Should you know of a property that may fit our needs, please let us know by contacting us.

We remain committed to our search and will provide updates as they are available.
