Wake Libraries Help Teens Take Learning to the Next Level

Wake County Public Libraries is launching a new program designed to help teens make the move toward their next big thing.

“Level Up: To College and Beyond” is a series of free, virtual programs and workshops led by experts that dive into how to prep for college, trade school, certificate programs and more.

“Navigating next steps after high school can be challenging, especially today when everything is virtual,” said Ann Burlingame, deputy director of Wake County Public Libraries. “We hope this program will give teens and their parents the information, tools and confidence they need to move their education forward.”

WCPL is partnering with the Princeton Review, College Foundation of North Carolina and CollegeWise to present the program. Examples of topics include:

  • FAFSA and Financial Aid
  • Grants and Scholarships for College
  • How to Write a Great College Essay
  • SAT, ACT or Both
  • The Art of the College Application

The series kicks off Tuesday, Sept. 8, with a session on Virtual Grants and Scholarships for College. The presentation will guide attendees through the process of looking for the right grant or scholarship for them. The program starts at 6 p.m. and will take place via Zoom.
