Wake County Offers Additional COVID-19 Testing Site this Weekend

Free, drive-thru testing at Raleigh church

Wake County is adding a temporary testing site in our community this weekend at Davie Street Presbyterian Church. After joining forces with the church to offer testing in November, Wake County is once again partnering to provide no-cost drive-thru testing this Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 12 and 13.

“Last weekend, more than 1270 people came out to be tested over a Saturday and Sunday at a similar church location in southeast Raleigh and we hope people will enjoy the same convenience at Davie Street,” said Dr. Nicole Mushonga, associate medical director and Epidemiology Program director for Wake County. “Partnering with these churches has allowed people who need a COVID-19 test to get one quickly and safely.”

  • DECEMBER 12 & 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Davie Street Presbyterian Church
300 E. Davie St. near downtown Raleigh

This free service provides an easy and efficient way for residents to learn if they have the virus. You do not need to sign up for a time slot for the Davie Street location, but you should fill out the quick online registration by visiting wakegov.com/testing. With this filled out in advance, you’ll be ready to go when you arrive.

What do you need to bring? Please bring some form of ID for each person being tested, including children. It doesn’t have to be a photo ID or a government-issued ID. It can be a utility bill, a piece of mail with your name and address on it, a child’s school record, etc. You can bring the ID or simply pull the record up on your mobile phone and show us.

How do we test? We’ll hand you a short swab, and you’ll be asked to circle it around in the lower part of your nose several times. Then, you’ll put the swab in a vial and hand it back to us. It takes seconds.

How do I get my results? You’ll be given a card with information about how to go online and get your results.

Wake County continues to offer other testing sites. This is the second week of testing at our newest ongoing test site at 5809 Departure Drive in Raleigh. At this office location, you’ll find both indoor and curbside testing from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Go online and sign up for a half-hour slot, so you’re assured a convenient appointment.

Drive-thru testing continues to be offered Monday-Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Sunnybrook Parking Deck, 2925 Holston Lane in Raleigh. No appointment or registration is necessary at this location.

Hours are changing, but drive-thru testing is continuing in Wake Forest at the Radeas Labs location on 907 Gateway Commons Circle. You can get tested at this location Monday-Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. No appointment or registration is necessary.
