Help us clean-up Durant Nature Preserve with your community! Improperly discarded trash and litter is a serious environmental hazard. It pollutes the water we use and depend on, it has the potential to cause injury to wildlife, and it is simply an eyesore. Give back by walking through Durant Nature Preserve and picking up as much trash and litter that you can find! This includes along the trails and through the woods. We will be working in the woods on uneven terrain. There may be contact with snakes and insects. The farthest that we will be from a restroom facility will be 1.5 miles. Please wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes, bring a water bottle, and wear clothing that can get dirty.  All materials are supplied but please feel free to bring your favorite pair of work gloves.

Pre-registration is required. Adults must register and accompany children.

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old to volunteer. Adults must register and accompany children under the age of 16. Everyone who volunteers must sign a release form. If anyone is under the age of 18, then a parent or guardian must sign their form as well.

If you are a group registering, a group leader must email rachel.vannoordt@raleighnc.gov to register. All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.
