Scrap Tires from Businesses

All tire retailers, scrap tire collectors, scrap tire processors and/or scrap tire haulers must provide a NC Scrap Tire Certification Form with Part 1 and Part 2 completed and signed in order to use Wake County Scrap Tire Facilities. For non-passenger oversized tire disposal see below – under Oversized Tires – for more information.

  • Part 1 is to be completed by the tire retailer or generator of the tires.

  • Part 2 is to be completed by the scrap tire hauler dropping off the tires at a Wake County Scrap Tire Facility. Please note that all scrap tire haulers must be registered by the Division of Waste Management - Solid Waste Section with a valid hauler's ID Number. Tire retailers who haul only their scrap tires may use their state sales tax number as the ID number in Part 2. The County may also require retailers to provide a completed E-500G Scrap Tire Disposal Tax form.

  • Part 3 is left blank to be completed by Wake County’s contractor.
