Planning Board
The Planning Board advises the county on planning and zoning matters. This board meets the first Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. The board also reserves the third Wednesday of each month in case a second/special meeting is required. Meetings are held in Room 2700 of the Wake County Justice Center, at 300 S. Salisbury St.

The Board of Adjustment hears and acts on appeals, variances and special uses in Wake County zoning cases. This board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 9 a.m. in Room 2700 of the Wake County Justice Center, at 300 S. Salisbury St.

Historic Preservation Commission
The Historic Preservation Commission promotes the preservation of important elements of local culture, history, architectural history and/or prehistory. Capital Area Preservation www.cappresinc.org provides staff support to this board and the Wake County Preservation program. This board meets the second Tuesday of each month at 3:30 p.m. in Room 2800 or 2700 of the Wake County Justice Center, 300 S. Salisbury St.
