Historic Oak View Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers running a craft table at an Oak View event

Historic Oak View County Park couldn’t operate without the gracious assistance of many members of the public and organizations that volunteer.  Learn more about volunteer opportunities below.

Volunteer at a Park Event

The most common way to volunteer at Historic Oak View County Park is to work at a special event! Special event volunteers could be assigned one of a number of jobs during an event including, directing parking and visitors, assisting with games and activities, collecting trash and much more!  Email the Assistant Park Manager at abigail.kellerman@wake.gov for more information.

Volunteer at the Summer Food Site

Every summer, Historic Oak View County Park hosts a free lunch program at the park's Bluebird Shelter. In partnership with the Wake County School System, free lunches will be provided to children under 18, Monday through Friday at the park's Bluebird Shelter. No pre-registration required. Volunteers at the Summer Food Site help pass out lunches to participants.

Dates for the summer of 2023 have yet to be announced. Email the Park Manager at emily.cathermanfryar@wake.gov for more information.
