Historic Oak View County Park offers major events in a festival format centered around a nature, history, or recreational topic. These large one-day events usually occur in the spring or fall. Learn more about the special events below.
Barnyard Birthday Bash
The Barnyard Birthday Bash is an annual event held in mid-May to celebrate the birthdays of the park goats, Levi, Elliot, Felix and Leroy. This free family event is great for preschool age kids and features games, activities and, of course, cake!
Oak View Farm Fest
Take a step back in time on the first Saturday in October and celebrate farm life! Oak View Farm Fest has everything you would expect at an old-time county fair. Bring the whole family out for a fun-filled day and a look back at Wake County's rural and agricultural history. The free event features:
Farm animals, antique equipment and cars, traditional crafts, agricultural exhibits, live music, horse-drawn carriage rides, cane pole fishing, pony rides, historic lawn games, face painting, food vendors, and more!

Christmas at Oak View: 1850-1950
Tour Oak View with this self-guided activity to learn how the Christmas holiday was experienced by the different people and families living and working at Oak View through its long history, from its days as a plantation to a system of farm management, sharecropping, and tenant farming.
Visitors can take the self-guided tour throughout December, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and Sunday 1-5 p.m.
