Our events calendar shows upcoming events that may impact visitors in the park. These include our own major events, but also events hosted by outside organizations such as marathons.
Public Programs
Spring Safari
Tuesday, March 26, 10–11 a.m.
Discover what’s budding, bursting and growing during this springtime walk as we look for spring plants and animals. As we walk, we’ll try our hand at nature journaling to help us further explore the changing season. A great way to spend this WCPSS traditional calendar Spring Break program for families. Part of the ecoEXPLORE Botany field season. Family program for ages 5 & up.
Monthly 5k Races
US Road Running will host monthly 5k races at the park on the following dates:
March 9, April 15, May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14, October 12, November 9 and December 14
Expect busier than normal use of the Pedestrian Loop around the Big Hill on these dates from park opening until 11am.
Wake County Senior Games - TEMPORARY PARK CLOSURE
Wake County Senior Games events will be held on the following dates:
March 19 (rain date = March 21): Cycling Park will be closed to the public during this event, 9a - noon
April 16 (rain date = April 18): 5k, 9a - noon
