Blue Jay Point Virtual Group Programs

Until we can gather again, Blue Jay Point County Park is excited to offer engaging virtual field trip programs for groups. Get an interactive, educational experience from the safety and comfort of your own home.

School classes, scouts, clubs, homeschool groups, retirement communities, and other organizations can sign up for an educational program to enjoy online.

Blue Jay Point's educational programming offers opportunities for participants to learn about nature and to explore important environmental concepts specific to piedmont North Carolina that will help them develop the skills and decision-making processes to become good environmental stewards.

Our virtual field trips are Blue Jay Point educator-led, live presentations combined with complementary Blue Jay video segments and participant interaction. Each program lasts about 50 minutes and encourages participants to think critically about their place in the environment. We are presently offering two of our popular group programs for you to choose from, with more program options to follow soon. These virtual group programs are intended for groups with at least 10 participants in the targeted age range.

There is no fee for virtual field trips. We recommend scheduling one program session per group, and we can offer multiple dates, times and program sessions to best fit your needs.

Our virtual programs use Zoom or Google Meet. Participants will need internet access and a computer, tablet or phone to join the presentation. Please have an adult facilitator present to lend a hand with any technical difficulties.

Each program comes with suggested thematic activities to digitally extend the program content.

All virtual field trips must be scheduled in advance. Please contact Blue Jay Point County Park at bluejaypoint@wake.gov or call 919-870-4330 to schedule your virtual field trip.
