Blue Jay Point Camps

Camps are more extended programs offered by park staff during the summer months. Blue Jay Point’s camps are offered in a “mini-camp” format and held according to age groups.

General Camp Information

Camp registration is online. Spaces are limited and tend to fill quickly, so register early!

All camps are 3 days camps- held on Monday, Wednesday, Friday 

A registration packet, including a health history form, will be emailed before the start of camp.

A parent letter containing important information and a basic schedule of activities will be emailed the week before the start of camp.

Eco Kids: Wild about Wings Mini Camp
June 13, 15, 17  9am-12pm 
What do birds, bats and bees all have in common? Wings, of course! Learn about the distinctions of these flying animals and what makes them similar and different. Find out how bird beaks work, catch insects as a bat and become a bee waggle dancer. For ages 4-5yr. old; $36/child 

There's an Owl in the Shower Mini Camp
July 11, 13, 15  9am-3pm 
Campers will explore owl ecology, field guide use, endangered species, comparisons of ecosystems, environ-mental ethics, and more while enjoying hikes, games, and crafts.  

Campers are expected to read There’s an Owl in the Shower by Jean Craighead George prior to attending camp.  Loaner books will be available for check-out upon registration.  **Optional Owl Prowl on Wed, July 13 from 8:30-9:30 p.m.   For ages 9-12yr. old; $72/child 

Rockin’ Around Mini Camp 
July 18, 20, 22  9am-1pm 
Geology captures our imagination this week as we explore rocks, minerals, and fossils through hikes, games, stories and crafts. Create a rock box to gain a collection that’ll impress your family by the end of the week!   6-8 yr. old; $48/child 

Eco Kids Mini Camps

A 3-day mini-camp for youngsters ages 4 - 5 years in which they learn about a variety of topics through crafts, hikes, stories and other activities. These will be offered several times throughout the year.

Eco Kids: Incredible Insects 
August 8, 10, 12  9am-12pm 
Ladybugs, butterflies, and dragonflies are just some of the amazing insects that live all around us.  How are they alike?  How are they different?  Come explore Blue Jay Point habitats as we seek them out.  Listen to creepy-crawly stories; make some critter crafts; and enjoy yummy buggy snacks.  4-5yr. old; $36/child
