Historic Oak View County Park offers major events in a festival format centered around a nature, history, or recreational topic. These large one-day events usually occur in the spring or fall. Learn more about the special events below.
Barnyard Birthday Bash
The Barnyard Birthday Bash is an annual event held in mid-May to celebrate the birthdays of the park goats, Levi, Elliot, Felix and Leroy. This free family event is great for preschool age kids and features games, activities and, of course, cake!
Oak View Farm Fest
Take a step back in time on the first Saturday in October and celebrate farm life! Oak View Farm Fest has everything you would expect at an old-time county fair. Bring the whole family out for a fun-filled day and a look back at Wake County's rural and agricultural history. The free event features:
Farm animals, antique equipment and cars, traditional crafts, agricultural exhibits, live music, horse-drawn carriage rides, cane pole fishing, pony rides, historic lawn games, face painting, food vendors, and more!

Sleigh Rides and Cider
Spend a winter night at Oak View and get in the holiday spirit on the first Saturday in December from 5-7:30 p.m.!

Christmas at Oak View Farm
Experience the holidays at Oak View, and discover how historic events impacted customs, traditions and decorations. Tour the plank kitchen and main house as we travel back in time to the Antebellum Era, Civil War Era, Victorian Era, Great Depression and World War II.
