Advisory Groups

Health & Human Services Board

The Wake County Health & Human Services Board is a consolidated policy and advocacy board for the Health & Human Services and Environmental Services Departments. The Board is charged with representing the broad interests of the community through statutorily defined duties.

Health & Human Services Board Functions

Transportation Board

The Wake County Transportation Advisory Board (TAB) serves as a forum for citizen suggestions and complaints concerning fares, routes and schedules. It also serves as an advocacy group for public transportation services and reviews recommendations on services provision and transit policies. The TAB reviews and makes recommendations on minimum performance standards for the system. The TAB also explores emerging issues in public transit and works with staff on solutions.

Transportation Board Functions

Community Advocacy Committees

Each regional Health & Human Services Center has its own Community Advisory Committee (CAC) comprised of community members representing private businesses, non-profit groups, government entities, educational associations, consumers, residents, community partners and county staff (staff liaison).

Social Services and Public Health Committee

The Board comprises two standing committees: the Public Health Committee and Social Services Committee. The Committees address the Board's priorities through their individual work plans.

Wake Area Business Advisory Council
