Wake County is committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of our first responders.

We aim to raise awareness of the challenges first responders face, eliminate the stigma of asking for help and provide resources to assist in times of crisis.

Whether you’re struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief and loss, addiction, child and elder care, suicidal thoughts or finances – or a combination of these – you don’t have to suffer in silence. Check out the resources available below.

First Responder Assistance Program

Responders 1st Call™ delivers a virtual lifeline and relieves the emotional and physical impact of trauma on first responders. Get free confidential support, resources and referrals any time day or night for you and your family. Options include an on-demand trauma helpline, virtual EMDR treatment and family mental health consultations.
