Environmental Health staff investigates complaints received from the public alleging sanitation deficiencies and foodborne illnesses associated with perm​itted facilities located in Wake County.

Please note that all information received by this office, except for reports containing medical information, are public records and can be reviewed by anyone making a request to view the record.​ 

Code Enforcement Concerns
Wake County Code Enforcement responds to building code, zoning and environmental health violations in unincorporated areas of the county, and can provide contact information for municipal Code Enforcement departments. Examples of Code Enforcement issues include: construction without a permit, illegal dumping, unsafe buildings, and stagnant water/mosquito harborage.

Mold Concerns
Wake County Environmental Services does not inspect or have regulatory authority over private and rental housing. Contact the agencies listed for help with your housing issues.
