The County's main corporate website, WakeGOV.com, is a central communication channel for access to information and services. The site receives more than 9 million visits and 21 million page views a year. It connects our citizens to important program information and is the launching point for our many online services. From our home page, citizens can easily access online services from the “I want to…” menu to do a variety of common tasks, such as finding a library book, paying taxes, searching restaurant inspection grades or applying for a job online.

This site also promotes government transparency with easy access to live streaming video of Board of Commissioners meetings and operational data, such as our WATCH accountability section, which allows citizens to view how their tax dollars are used by viewing financial transaction details. Our website also incorporates several social media services, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube.

Wake County's Information Services manages and maintains our public website at WakeGOV.com and our employee intranet portal using Microsoft's SharePoint. The technology provides modern content management features that allows our staff to create and manage departmental content. The current site was developed and designed by Wake County staff within nine months and used no external contractors or vendors.

The Digital Media & Design Services Team within Information Services provides ongoing support and management for our websites to ensure accurate, consistent and readily accessible ways for citizens and employees to interact and engage with Wake County Government. Both the WakeGOV website and the employee intranet portal (WE) offer anytime, anyplace access to information and online services.
