Sedimentation & Erosion Control
Wake County operates an erosion prevention program that aims to prevent sediment from leaving a construction site and contaminating Wake County's natural environment. We accomplish this by enforcing state and local erosion prevention regulations and by working with developers, builders and landowners in Wake County.
All single home construction sites in Wake County's jurisdiction are required to have adequate erosion control installed prior to the footing inspection.
The Wake County Stormwater Program regulates the following unincorporated areas of Wake County in the area Erosion & Sedimentation Control:
Please see the gray menus to the left for Erosion and Sedimentation Control policies and guidance.
