Community Area Resources Team
CART is a voluntary military and civilian cooperative partnership organized to provide multi-service networking for support and assistance to ensure total-force family readiness for active-duty personnel, as well as services to veterans and their families. CART membership involves all military services within the region, all major veteran service organizations within the region, all relevant state and local government departments and agencies, civilian organizations established to assist military families, relevant community and faith-based service organizations, organizations with a role in disaster response (e.g., police, fire, hospitals, etc.) and community businesses interested in supporting military members, veterans and their families.
Mission Statement
CART will be a structure for the growth of services and organizations supporting military members, veterans and their families.
Goal
Serve as an outlet for all organizations (governmental, service component, nonprofit, faith-based, businesses, media) to come together to provide support to military members, veterans and their families within communities in which they live.
CART will develop ongoing programs to support military members and their families within the community through the interaction of committee members. In order for the group to be able to address military family needs, it is important to understand what issues are being faced by active-duty, Reserve, Guard and veterans, and the issues impacting their families. Sharing information on these issues among committee members is one way in which to identify all the issues and concerns. This includes meeting the identified needs of military personnel, family members and commands by providing information, referral, education and preventative services to enhance family readiness.
Ultimately, CART can enable military families and veterans to receive assistance from the closest source regardless of affiliation.
How can I help?
CART membership includes business, nonprofit, faith-based, healthcare, education, government, military, veteran and volunteer groups. The goal of CART is to improve awareness, communications, access and availability of services that active-duty military and veterans families need to achieve and maintain success during service and in civilian life.
The solutions are there when the community joins forces and helps with:
- employing the jobless
- delivering affordable healthcare
- counseling individuals and families
- providing affordable housing
- negotiating legal issues
- providing programs for children
|
- providing support groups
- contributing financial and in-kind resources
- volunteering time and transportation
- helping find answers
- and much more
|
Through greater communication and coordination, CART engages the community, reduces duplication of effort, and extends effective services wherever they are needed most. Please join CART and help support the troops who have given so much to serve our country and our communities.
