Working Lands Conservation
What is Working Lands Conservation?
Various land uses provide economic and profitable assets to Wake County's quality of life. Citizens know that the land can provide a range of uses from habitat for wildlife, recreational areas to mega shopping centers. All land uses impact the water quality in each watershed. Working Lands Conservation examines the land uses and recommends best management practices to reduce negative water quality impacts.
Contact your Natural Resource Conservationist or Environmental Education Specialist at Wake Soil and Water Conservation District to find out ways to keep the land productive while protecting the natural resources.
