Due to the anticipated arrival of Hurricane Florence, Wake County opened emergency shelters on Thursday, Sept. 13, at the following locations: 

People taking shelter should bring:

  • Special need items, such as prescription medications, eye glasses, contact lens solution, hearing aid batteries, etc.
  • Extra clothing
  • Items for infants/young children, such as formula, diapers, bottles, etc.
  • Cash
  • Identification cards

Pet owners should bring all the items they need for their pet’s care, including crates, leashes, pet food, cat litter and pans, etc.
