Schools and Education

Education is a vital part of our community.  Wake County is the proud home of two universities, four colleges, and a nationally-respected public school system. The Board of Commissioners is responsible for providing funding for facilities for the Wake County Public School System and supplements the state's funding for school operations. The Wake County Public School System has 120,504 students and is growing by 6,400 more this year!
