The Wake County Register of Deeds will be administering Notary Oaths virtually, online by appointment only.

The Register of Deeds office administers Notary Public Oaths for Wake County notaries Monday through Friday. You will receive notice by mail from the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State to be sworn in at the Wake County Register of Deeds office.

Where do I take my Notary Public Oath?

  • Once this notice is received, email rodvitals@wakegov.com to setup an appointment.
  • The notary oath will be administered virtually using your smartphone with a camera and internet access as well the Android or iPhone Google Duo App.

Do I need an appointment?

  • Yes, our temporary office policy requires Notary Oaths to be administered virtually, by appointment only.

What do I need?

  • Your notice from the North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State's office.
  • The Notary Public Oath fee is $10.
  • You must show a valid government issued photo ID when taking the oath.
