Expanded Services Pilot Program
Starting October 1, 2009, Wake County will begin a pilot program at Convenience Center Site # 1, located at 10505 Old Stage Road in Raleigh, and Convenience Center Site # 11, located at 5051 Wendell Blvd. in Wendell. The purpose of the pilot program is to give Wake County citizens more recycling opportunities, especially in the eastern part of the County.
Additional Materials to be collected:
Convenience Center Site # 1 (10505 Old Stage Road, Raleigh)
- Large appliances (white goods): A/C Units, Refrigerator, Washer/Dryer, Water Heater, etc.
Convenience Center Site # 11 (5051 Wendell Blvd., Wendell)
- Large appliances (white goods): A/C Units, Refrigerator, Washer/Dryer, Water Heater, etc.
- Electronic Equipment: Computer Equipment, TVs, VCR/DVD Player, Stereos, Phones, Copiers, etc.
- Motor Oil
- Oil Filters
- Antifreeze
- Lead-acid Batteries
- Latex Paint
- Cooking Oil
- Tires
Both sites will accept residential construction and demolition debris in separate collection containers. It is anticipated that this will help decrease the wait times for citizens using the regular trash compactors.
