The new Career & Technical Education (CTE) High School for the Wake County Public School System will serve as a vocational magnet school for the area high schools and as additional instructional space for Wake Technical Community College during the evening hours. The school will be located near downtown Raleigh, on a former Coca-Cola bottling plant site along South Wilmington Street. The existing buildings on site, totaling 102,789 square feet, will be renovated and upgraded to meet the required CTE High School program.

The CTE program is designed to accommodate 709 students and will include spaces such as student support and administration, general classrooms, labs, a dining commons, a multipurpose space and learning commons. Site improvements include repairing and repaving the existing asphalt lots to create a new bus drop-off, staff and student parking lots, and a visitor drop-off loop with parking.

The facility is expected to be ready for use by the Wake County Public School System and Wake Technical Community College in the summer of 2014.
