PROJECT SUMMARY

The new Wake County EMS – RDU Station is located just north of RDU International Airport. This new facility replaced an existing pre-engineered metal building built in 1972 that Wake County EMS had operated out of since 2005. The new facility is 4,087 SF and is a single-story brick building with metal roofing that will be heavily insulated for sound, due to its close proximity to the airport. The building plan features 3 single-length ambulance bays and living space that contains an office, kitchen and sleeping area similar to the EMS – Durant Station built in 2010. The new Wake County EMS – RDU Station opened in November 2015.
