Land Use Plan Amendment 03-09
LUPA 03-09: Proposed Southwest Wake Area Land Use Plan Map amendment to update the Land Use Classification Map. This proposed Land Use Plan amendment is the result of the Harris Lake Drainage Basin Stakeholders Study conducted for southwestern Wake County.
The Wake County Planning Board's Land Use and Transportation Committees reviewed and discussed this proposal as part of the Harris Lake Drainage Basin Study at its meetings on November 4, 2009, November 18, 2009, and December 9, 2009.
The Wake County Planning Board reviewed and discussed the Harris Lake Drainage Basin Study and LUPA 03-09 at its meeting at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, in Room 700 of the Wake County Courthouse.
The Wake County Board of Commissioners discussed the results of the Harris Lake Drainage Basin Study at a work session February 8, 2010, at 2 p.m., in the Ground Floor Conference Center of the Wake County Office Building. Board work sessions are meetings that the Board schedules to allow the Board members to familiarize themselves with complex or detailed projects and plans. Although these sessions are open to the public there is no formal time in the meeting scheduled for the Board members to receive public comment. After the work session the Board of Commissioners will set a date for the aspects of the plan that require official adoption to go through an official adoption process with a public hearing component.
Note: The Harris Lake Drainage Basin Study was accepted as information (as recommended by County Staff and the Planning Board) by the Board of Commissioners at their work session on February 8, 2010.
The Wake County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing starting at 2 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2010, 7th Floor, Room 700, Wake County Courthouse, 316 Fayetteville St., Raleigh, to consider amending the Southwest Wake Area Land Use Plan as a result of the Harris Lake Drainage Basin Study. The Board of Commissioners voted to approve LUPA 03-09.
