Refund Guidelines

Limited Refund Guideline Policy

1. The full adoption fee may be refunded if the animal is returned within 72 hours because the animal was not compatible with the family or the family's pet, at the Manager's discretion. The refund will be mailed from the Wake County Finance Department and should be received within 14-21 days of request.

2. No sterilization deposit refund will be given after the sterilization expiration date without an extension having been granted prior to expiration date.

3. If the animal becomes sick, a full refund will be given within 14-21 days of purchase, if accompanied with a veterinarian's statement and approval by the Wake County Animal Shelter.

4. No refunds will be given if an animal runs away or is stolen.

5. Request for refunds not within these guidelines will need to be approved.
