*What's New, What's Ahead*
The Wake County Animal Care, Control and Adoption Center is making big changes. Once a new director is hired, staff will request that the Board of Commissioners establish an Animal Services Community Advisory Committee. With input from the new committee, the director will undertake a comprehensive evaluation and assessment of shelter operations.
The Animal Center is looking to the future of animal care, control and adoption in Wake County. Working with our partners, the Center wants to be the community’s leading provider of healthy animals for adoption.
Short Term Management Plan
As part of a comprehensive approach to shelter operations, Wake County has developed a Short Term Management Plan that highlights areas to focus on in the next 60–90 days, or through May 2012. The plan has been shared with all partners, stakeholders, staff and other interested parties. It is currently being updated.
