The Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption Center maintains a Mobile Adoption and Rescue Unit. This unit, put into service in 2003 and paid for through donations and grant dollars, allows for the Center to provide off-site adoptions and assist with rescue services. The 22-cage unit is used to assist Animal Control officers in large-volume animal seizure events and has been used to provide assistance to neighboring counties with their seizure cases.
The Mobile Unit is most often used to bring Center animals to off-site adoption events such as those that are held at local retail stores, fairs and festivals.
If you have questions or would like to invite the County's Animal Center to an off-site adoption event, contact Joanne Duda at Joanne.Duda@wakegov.com
