  • Money Donations

  • Monthly Payroll Deductions
    If you work for an employer that offers an annual Combined Campaign program administered through Triangle United Way or other United Way programs in your area, you can direct your campaign donation to the Wake County Animal Center by writing in the following information in the space provided for "Write-In Agency":

  • Sponsor A Pet
    If you are unable to adopt a pet yourself, you may want to consider sponsoring one of our animals. As a sponsor, you help someone find a new home by prepaying all or a portion of the adoption fee. For more information, call 919-212-PETS (7387).

  • Gift Certificates
    Finding the perfect gift for an animal lover just got easier! The Wake County Animal Care, Control & Adoption Center offers an arrangement of gift certificates to be used in adopting a new friend. Please contact Wake County Animal Adoption Center for programs, events and wish list information. For more information, call 919-212-PETS (7387).

  • Make a Pet Comforter
    We are enlisting volunteers to sew small comforters for kittens, cats and small dogs in our care. These comforters will help keep the pets warm during our outdoor adoption events. Before you begin sewing, learn more about the size specifications. View details about the pet comforter program.

  • Mobile Adoptions
    The mobile Adoption and Rescue Unit is available to visit your workplace. This vehicle can bring adoptable animals to your employees or community. Consider sponsoring these animals. If your organization is interested, contact Nancy Clemmons at nancy.clemmons@wakegov.com.

  • Speaker, lectures and Tours
    Wake County Animal Center representative visits with the hosting school to talk about responsible pet selection and care. Typical topics include: daily care, veterinary care, and the importance of spay/neuter. Please note: These are only some of the topics covered and can vary depending on specific interests of the group. Lectures typically include a pet interaction. Small groups are invited to schedule visits Wake County Animal Center.

    Tours include a behind the scenes look at what goes on at the Wake County Animal Center as well as a discussion on responsible pet selection and care. Groups are able to view both the private and public areas of the building in order to gain a better sense of what is involved in making an animal ready for adoption.   • Volunteer Opportunities
    Wake County Animal Adoption Center receives approximately 9,000 pets each year. Volunteers enable us to give our animals the care and attention they need and deserve. We couldn't do it without their help! It is easy to become a volunteer. Simply complete a Volunteer Application and attend a brief orientation.
