SATURDAY, SEPT. 21 | 11 A.M. - 3 P.M. | HISTORIC YATES MILL COUNTY PARK
 
Celebrate the start of the fall season at Historic Yates Mill County Park. The 14th annual Fall Harvest Celebration features an agricultural focus and explores seasonal changes on a farm. Wind your way through the park and discover bushels of family-friendly fun, including: 

  • Historic trades and demonstrations
  • Handmade arts and crafts
  • Live music and performers
  • Field games and old-time races
  • Farm tools, tractors and vintage cars
  • Food vendors
  • A fun scavenger hunt

MILL TOURS
It’s corn-grinding weekend, and Historic Yates Mill will be open for costumed tours from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Please note: while the Harvest Celebration is free, regular fees still apply for mill tours:

$5 for adults
$4 for seniors (ages 60 and older)
$3 for children (ages 7 - 16)
Free for children 6 and younger 

Proceeds help Yates Mill Associates pay for ongoing maintenance, repairs and restoration at Yates Mill. YMA will also have mill merchandise, stone-ground cornmeal and handmade crafts available for sale in the mill yard. Learn more about YMA here. 

PUMPKIN PASS SCAVENGER HUNT
Pick up a Pumpkin Pass when you arrive at the event and collect five ladybeetle or other bug stickers to win a fun prize! Pumpkin Pass Stations will be indicated on the event program. 

BUSHEL GUESS CONTEST
Try your hand at this fun guessing game! Learn some fun facts, and then correctly guess how many seeds are in the jar and you could win a corny prize! The winner is announced after the contest.

PUMPKIN PAINTING
Want to grab a gourd at the Harvest Celebration? It’s best to show up early to the pumpkin painting activity. Pumpkins are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

PARKING
Parking will be available at the NC State University Beef Educational Unit, 4505 Mid Pines Road, and a free shuttle will transport you to and from the event. The shuttle will run from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
