GRAND OPENING CELEBRATION
Join us at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, to celebrate the completion and official grand opening of Turnipseed Nature Preserve! You can be among the first to check out the preserve's recently-completed second phase. Spend a fall morning finding out what makes the preserve unique, and take a free, guided tour after the festivities wrap up.
 
The celebration will take place at 7100 Hunt Valley Trail, Wendell. 

ABOUT THE PRESERVE
Located south of Wendell near the Johnston County line, the 265-acre Turnipseed Nature Preserve is open for hiking and nature exploration.

Phase 1 of the preserve opened in 2017 with 3.1 miles of trails exploring various habitats and wildlife, as well as picnicking areas and an open play area. Phase 2, which was recently completed, features a second parking entrance with 1.2 miles of trails along a creek with rock outcrops, a wildlife viewing overlook and picnic tables.
