Historic Oak View County Park
 opened the new “Farmer’s Corner,” in the park’s Farm History Center. The Farmer’s Corner is an interactive area designed to teach children about rural and agricultural life in the early 20th century through hands-on games, puzzles, books and a touch-screen computer. Historic Oak View County Park is located at 4028 Carya Drive, Raleigh

The Farmer’s Corner is open:

  • Monday through Friday, from noon to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.

The Farmer’s Corner is dedicated to the memory of Kit Boney, an enthusiastic volunteer who was instrumental in gaining community support and funding to open Historic Oak View as a public historic site in the 1990s. Boney was a strong advocate for the educational value of the site.
