2012 Calendar of Events


2/4/2012: Black History Month Celebration (10 a.m.–4 p.m.)

A day filled with games, activities, crafts, live music, storytelling, and displays focusing on African-American History. Activities also located in the Wake County Commons Building. Event produced in partnership with Wake County Public Libraries.


4/14/2012: Pet Bull Palooza (10 a.m.–3 p.m.)

An event produced by local nonprofit, The Positive Pit Bull, to give pit bull owners lots of free goodies, including toys, training tips, spay/neuter vouchers, microchip and vaccination vouchers, and much more!


5/5/2012: Antique Automobile Show (10 a.m.–4 p.m.)

View antique cars and watch as the Triangle Chapter assembles their Take-Apart T in record time!


5/19/2012: Barnyard Birthday Bash (10 a.m.–noon)

Come celebrate the birthdays of the goats with us! Enjoy games, activities, and, of course, cake!


6/9/2012: Jazz in the Park (time tba)

Oak View partners with Shaw University Radio to bring you a jazz concert on the grounds of our park!


9/29/2012: Storytelling Festival (11 a.m.–4 p.m.)

Enjoy a day at the park and listen to stories from professional storytellers. Event produced in partnership with Wake County Public Libraries. 


10/6/2012: Heritage Day (10 a.m.–4 p.m.)

Visit this old time county fair, featuring live music, animals, agricultural displays, heritage craft displays, re-enactors, quilt auction, and much more!


12/1/2012: Sleigh Rides and Cider (5–7:30 p.m.)

Horse-drawn carriage rides, hot apple cider, live music, Ol’ Saint Nick, holiday activities, handmade crafts and much more!
