Events coming up in 2015

Oak View hosts a number of special events throughout the year. This is a list of the upcoming events for 2015. For event information, click on the event in the calendar above or follow us on Facebook for more updates. If you have any questions about any of these events, call the main park office at 919-250-1013.

 

2/21/15: Lost North Carolina exhibition opening day (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) This architectural heritage exhibition, on loan from Preservation North Carolina, is a powerful remembrance of architecture forever lost in our state. Lost NC is on display through May 17, 2015.

3/7/15: A Starlit View: Astronomy Program (7–9 p.m.) Oak View is partnering with Morehead Planetarium for a program loaded with stories and stargazing.

4/18/15: Antique Automobile Show (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) View antique cars and watch as the Triangle Chapter of the Antique Automobile Club of America assembles its Take-Apart T in record time!

6/6/15: Barnyard Birthday Bash (10 a.m.–noon) Come celebrate the goats' 10th birthday with us! Enjoy games, activities and, of course, cake!

9/26/15: Storytelling Festival (11 a.m.–4 p.m.) Enjoy a day at the park and listen to stories from professional storytellers in this event proudly presented in partnership with Wake County Public Libraries.

10/3/15: Heritage Day (10 a.m.–4 p.m.) Visit this old-time county fair, featuring live music, animals, agricultural displays, heritage craft displays, re-enactors, quilt auction, and much more!

11/1/15–11/30/15: Pecan Pickin' Month (Mon.–Sat., 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.; Sun., 1–5 p.m.) Come out to harvest a small bag of pecans from our grove, while supplies last.

12/5/15: Sleigh Rides and Cider (5–7:30 p.m.) Kick off your holiday season with horse-drawn carriage rides, hot apple cider, live music, handmade crafts, holiday activities, and, of course, Ol’ Saint Nick!
