The most common way to volunteer at Historic Oak View County Park is to work at a special event! Special event volunteers could be assigned one of a number of jobs:

  • Passing out information to arriving visitors
  • Assisting park staff with games/activities for kids and families
  • Collecting trash
  • Assisting park staff with other duties, as assigned

Occasionally, Oak View needs volunteers to be stationed in the Main House during special events to answer questions about the property. These volunteer docents receive training in the history of Oak View.

Historic Oak View is lucky to have partnerships with a number of organizations who volunteer their time to help us maintain the property or put on special events. Some of these organizations are:

Wake County Extension and Community Association

Triangle Chapter, Antique Automobile Association of America

  NC Pecan Growers Association

  Herb Society of Wake County

  Wake County Master Gardeners

  Wake County 4-H
