Volunteer Opportunities

Lake Crabtree County Park has year-round opportunities for volunteers interested in gaining community service hours, scout projects, or simply being good stewards. Volunteers include individuals, groups, students, and families, each working in a variety of settings according to their interests and skills. Volunteer opportunities can be scheduled for a single visit or as a series of visits.

Current volunteer projects include:

  • Bridge construction along Lake Trail
  • Wildlife monitoring and surveys
  • Shoreline erosion control
  • Invasive species control and eradication
  • Trail maintenance and construction
  • Garden maintenance

Please contact the Lake Crabtree County Park office at 919-460-3390 or lakecrabtree@wakegov.com to inquire about scheduling a volunteer opportunity for you or your group. Important Note: All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Service Agreement and Release Form. All unaccompanied minors must bring a completed form signed by a parent or legal guardian, and all participants are encouraged to bring their completed forms with them.

Lake Crabtree County Park also offers organized groups (schools, scouts, etc.) the opportunity to earn a free environmental education program in exchange for volunteer service hours.  Call Colleen Bockhahn at 460-2723 for more information.
