The 680-acre park is situated on a peninsula located on the Shearon Harris Reservoir. Harris Lake County Park is located in New Hill, N.C. – southwestern Wake County – and is convenient to Raleigh, Cary, Apex, Holly Springs and Fuquay-Varina.

A Day at Harris Lake:

 
Park hours: Monday-Sunday, 8 a.m.-sunset
Park Closed: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Day

The Park will be CLOSED to the public Sunday, July 12, until 2 p.m. to host an Olympic Triathlon.  Park will be open to the public after 2 p.m.!


The Disc Golf Course will be CLOSED to the public Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Course will be available to the public on both of these days after 1 p.m.!

Park Rules and Regulations:  Safety and enjoyment go hand in hand at Harris Lake County Park. The following rules and regulations have been established to ensure a safe and pleasant visit.

  1. Speed limit is 20 mph.
  2. Pets must be restrained on a leash – 6 feet max.
  3. Open fires are not allowed.
  4. Park only in designated areas. No parking on roadsides or grass.
  5. The following are prohibited:
    1. Alcoholic beverages
    2. Firearms
    3. Hunting
    4. Overnight camping
    5. Swimming
    6. Collection or removal of any animal or plant material
    7. Amplified music
