2017 Day Camps

A registration packet including a health history form and more information will be sent to you with your paid registration online. Your child will bring a lunch, snacks and water bottle to camp each day. All camps meet in the Cypress Shelter.

 Herpetology Spring Break Day Camp
Tuesday, April 11–Thursday, April 13 (3-day camp)
8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
For ages 7–12; $100 per child

Spend three days of spring break exploring our lake, ponds and logs to discover the amphibians and reptiles that live here. Help us add species to our Natural Resources Inventory Database and set out and monitor cover boards. 



Discovery Day Camps 
Monday, June 12–Friday, June 16
Monday, June 26–Friday, June 30
(5-day camps)
8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
For ages 7–12; $160 per child

Discover the natural wonders of Harris Lake County Park while exploring the park on foot, by wagon or in a canoe. Enjoy games and crafts with new friends, go fishing, try geocaching and disc golf and practice survival skills.

Discovery Mini Day Camps
Monday, June 19–Friday, June 23
Monday, July 10–Friday, July 14
(5-day camps)
9 a.m.–1 p.m.
For ages 4–7; $80 per child

Experience camp for the first time or return for more fun to discover nature at Harris Lake County Park. Enjoy games and crafts with new friends, go fishing, hiking and canoeing, and take a wagon ride to the Longleaf area.

Schoolhouse of Wonder Track Out Camps at Harris Lake County Park

For 25 years Schoolhouse of Wonder has sent kids home dirty, tired and happy from their award-winning, outdoor Summer and Track Out Camps. This fall they are again partnering with Wake County Parks, Recreation and Open Space to offer nature-based, outdoor Track Out Camps at Harris Lake County Park for 5–12-year-olds. Schoolhouse camps offer extended hours, low camper-to-staff ratio, sibling and multi-camp discounts.
