Volunteers and park staff perform routine maintenance on the following areas:
- Hog Run Mountain Bike Trail
- Peninsula Hiking Trail
- Buckhorn Disc Golf Course
- Educational Gardens
*Each volunteer must complete the Wake County Volunteer Release Form and mail or bring to park before they can begin their volunteer work.

Join us for a fun volunteer
Help keep Harris Lake clean! Volunteers are needed to help collect trash along the lake shore and along New Hill Holleman Road, preventing litter from reaching Harris Lake. Minimum age for shoreline cleanup is 6; minimum age for roadside cleanup is 10.
All volunteers must wear close-toed shoes or boots
, bring a filled water bottle, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent and your own work gloves. We will have loaner gloves if needed. Dress for the weather. We will provide trash bags for all and reflective vests for the roadside crew. All volunteers must sign the Wake County Volunteer Release
. Volunteers under age 16 must be with a guardian or adult group sponsor.
All participants must be registered in advance. Register online by September 16.

Haunting at Harris
Saturday, October 8, 1-6 p.m.
Volunteer at our annual Halloween event and assist with games, crafts and other fun
activities or as an actor on our spooky wagon ride trail! We would love to have you!

TORC Volunteer Workdays
Please join us for our mountain bike trail workdays. See a current schedule of workdays and RSVP on the TORC meet-up page
! Workdays include projects like adding new features, re-routing trails and general trail maintenance. Bring good gloves and work shoes. All tools will be provided. Meet at the Hog Run Bike Trail gravel parking lot. Workdays are three hours.
Park staff relies on dedicated volunteers to help maintain the beauty and safety of Harris Lake County Park for its visitors and wildlife. Call to schedule a volunteer opportunity for an individual or group. An educational component is part of the volunteer experience, so call for more details.
