Flying WILD!
Ages 13-16
**This program has been canceled due to low enrollment.**
Birds are everywhere! From urban landscapes to wilderness preserves, birds are often the most spectacular and readily observable wildlife. Birds benefit when people learn about bird conservation and take action to protect birds and preserve their habitat since more than 10% of America’s 852 bird species are threatened or endangered. Join Blue Jay staff for hands-on exploration of diverse topics including bird anatomy, habitat, ID, conservation and action including nest box monitoring, migration, research techniques and cultural connections. Get your creative juices flowing as you design and develop an activity for Blue Jay’s Songbird Celebration in a unique service-learning opportunity.
Designed for teens who are being homeschooled, this program series will meet from 1-4 p.m. each session.
For 13-16-year-olds. Fee: $90 for entire semester of 8 sessions
