Using excerpts from the Jean Craighead George book My Side of the Mountain, we will learn about birds of prey, regional comparisons of plant and animal species, phenological journaling, famous naturalists and the science behind simple outdoor survival skills. Classes will meet at the Blue Jay Center for Environmental Education.
 
Fee: $64 for entire semester of 8 sessions
   
Fall Kids Conservation Corps is an annual natural history education program for children ages 9–12 focusing on concepts relating to conservation issues in the Piedmont. Designed for children who are being homeschooled, this program series will meet from 1–3 p.m. on the first  and third Tuesdays of most months (please note the irregularity in December). $64/participant includes all eight sessions.
